 We can travel in the past as well as in the future too but for this, we require a metal who can travel more than the speed of light, Albert  Einstein's theory of special relativity says that time slows down or speeds up depending on how fast you move relative to something else . Tychon is an element that travels at the speed of light but not more than it. It's why we can not travel through time machines, other metals can not travel at the speed of light.       Albert einstein shows time is an illusion,  it is relative, it can vary for different observers depending on your speed through space.
